Biography

Sarah Louise[1] Acree, known as Louise[2], was born 23 Jul 1914[1][3] south of Model, in District 8 of Stewart County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Lytton G. and Katie Ford Acree[4]. She was the last child to be born on the original Acree family homestead (south of Model, Tennessee on the banks of the Cumberland River - land between the lakes)[1][2].

Louise married Edwin Desmond Fentress in Herndon, Kentucky on 23 Mar 1940[5][6]. The couple had five daughters[1].

Louise passed away 16 May 1993 (aged 78) in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, United States and was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Hopkinsville, Christian County, Kentucky, United States[3].

    There is also an obituary cited as follows: "LOUISE FENTRESS, Sarah Louise Fentress, 78, of LaFayette Road, died at 8:40 p.m. Sunday at Centennial Memorial Hospital, Nashville, Tenn. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Don Dilday officiating and burial in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Maddux Funeral Home, Hopkinsville, and at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
    A native of Model, Tenn., she was born July 23, 1914, daughter of the late Lytton Glynn Acree, Sr. and his wife the late Kate Ford Acree. She was a retired teacher having worked for the Christian County school system, and a member of St. John United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Edwin D. Fentress; five daughters, Nancy Hyams, Nashville, Tenn., Joy Sandlin, Virginia Beach, Va., Glenda Jacobs, Hopkinsville, Edwina Morgan, Lawrenceville, Ga., and Sherry Bumpus, Clarksville, Tenn.; a brother, Nathan Edward Acree, Alexandria, Va. ; and 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
