Biography
William was born about 1810.
William married Mary Thompson on 11 November 1830 in Taliaferro County, Georgia, USA. [1]
In the 1840 U. S. Census [2] the family was in District 604, Taliaferro County, Georgia . The children included two males under five (William & James) and two females from five to nine (Martha & Susan). It shows that William was employed in agriculture. They had one female slave.
In the 1850 U. S. Census (29 December 1850) the family was in Russell County, Alabama. (The record was difficult to read) The family included William and Mary and the following children: Martha age 19 born in Georgia, Susan age 15, Samuel age 13, William, Age 11, Daniel age 9, Seaborn age 7, Mary age 6, and Frances age 4. In the 1855 Alabama State Census the family was in Macon County, Alabama. [4]
