William married Cecilia, daughter of Richard Cressett of Upton Cresset, Shropshire^[1] on 24 February 1501^{[citation needed]}

William and Cecilia had 12 children,^[1] including

• son Francis Acton, married Bridgett Powis^[1]
• son Robert Acton, married Brigett Detton^[1]
