Biography

He was the son and heir of Laurence Acton (d.1386/7) of Newcastle-upon-Tyne by his wife Elizabeth. She was the daughter of Sir William Sturmyn. [1]

He was married and had at least one son.

He served as the Member of Parliament for Newcastle upon Tyne in 1386, 1391. Sept 1398, 1300.[1]

He was Bailiff of Newcastle-upon-Tyne Mich. from 1385 to 93; and mayor from 1393 to 6. He was Justice of the Peace in Newcastle-upon-Tyne 26 Dec. 1390. he was Commissioner of inquiry, Northumberland from June 1399 to July 1401 (lands of John Chamber).

His son, another Laurence, had come of age by April 1395,
