Annie Ruth Adair was born on June 20, 1909 in Sherwood, Irion, Texas, USA. Her parents were Rev Robert Adair (1860 - 1938) and Annie Perrin ( - ).^[1]

Annie Ruth married Ernest Richey Kelley (1907 - 1993) on September 20, 1935 in San Antonio, Bexar, Texas.

Their child was Mr Ernest Kelley (1930s - living).

Annie Ruth died on June 18, 1986 in San Antonio aged 76. She is buried in Sabinal, Uvalde, Texas, USA.^[2][3]

Being born in Sherwood, Texas, on June 20, 1909, moving a lot, never staying anywhere long, playing with her three older brothers, listening to her father's sermons at the Methodist church attending Southwestern University in Georgetown on a scholarship having to leave because of hardships at home marrying a hardworking carpenter and farmer at the old age of twenty-six bearing two children, a son and eleven months later, a daughter graduating from South West Texas College in San Marcos receiving her teaching certificate living on a 237 acre farm five miles south of Sabinal, Texas teaching children in the third - grade enjoying her granddaughters affectionately calling her "Bobby" keeping a clean, but very cluttered kitchen preferring all things pastel instead of "loud," bright colors telling me about the owl that grabbed her finger making beautiful Christmas ornaments taking me on the bus to shop at the downtown Joske's retiring in poor health after thirty-seven years of teaching elementary school going on long walks on the farm with the dogs and cats following us fixing me homemade fig preserves on homemade bread calling all the barn cats for their evening feast letting me help her burn the trash in the barrel out back saying grace at Thanksgiving dinner running to the closet during all storms believing with all her heart that one particular night she saw a U.F.O. talking Mama into letting me see "Saturday Night Fever" cooking wonderful food from her huge garden sharing quilts, afghans, pillows and needlework with her family eating watermelons at the river. Then dwindling away from her many ailments rubbing her sore, swollen legs suffering in silence through it all tossing and turning in the hospital bed whispering "Oh, my goodness" in her soft, shy, pain-stricken voice dying in the hospital in the wee morning hour - a lady to the end

That was Bobby, my beloved grandmother.
