Biography

Joseph Adam dit Labranche, born around 1732, came to the colony as a soldier in the Languedoc regiment, Marillac company, arriving in 1755 with Montcalm and his fellow soldiers.[1]

Joseph Adam, son of Grégoire Adam and Jeanne Droite, native of the parish of Usni, diocese of Verdun, married Marie Joseph Guinard on 25 September 1760 in Yamachiche.[2][3] Together they had three children, none of whom survived infancy.

Later widowed, he married Madeleine Milet on 20 October 1777 in Yamachiche.[4][5] Together, they had the following 10[6] children:

He died suddenly on Christmas Day 1793, and was buried three days later in Yamachiche.[7][8]

Son frère Jean-Grégoire (parents défunts), ancien cocher inhumé à 83 ans le 05-11-1819 à Châtillon-Coligny (St-Pierre-St-Paul) (Loiret, 45085), époux de Marie-Anne Lévy. Les actes suivants sont à Hussigny-Godbrange (Nativité-de-la-Vierge). Son frère Jean, manouvrier, bûcheron d. 05-04-1771. Son père Grégoire Adam (Jean-François, laboureur d. 18-03-1714 et Anne Lemoine d. 17-06-1709) est n/b 04-11-1697. Sa mère Jeanne Drouet (Jean et Jeanne Muny) est décédée le 17-12-1768.[9][1]

Joseph was born about 1725. He passed away in 1793.
