Biography

Alfred was born in 1859. He passed away in 1943.

The Kansan Concordia, Cloud Co., Kansas Thursday, November 18, 1943 ALFRED ADAM DIES Alfred Adam, long time resident of Aurora, at St Joseph Hospital here Wednesday morning, where he had been a patient for the past six weeks. Mr. Adam was born near Chambly, Montreal, Canada, on April 27, 1859. He came to the United States in 1868 with his father and mother, and they settled in Illinois. In 1874, they came to Washington County, Kansas. He was married there to Miss Mary Bessette, of Cloud County in 1882 and the couple came to Cloud county two years later, making their home on a farm four miles north of Miltonvale. They retired from the farm in 1915 and moved to a home in Aurora where he had resided sense that time. Surviving are nine children; Mrs. Louis Charbonneau of Clyde, Mrs. George Perret, Arthur Adam, and Albert Adam of Aurora, Alpha Adam, Alphonse Adam, and Mrs. Ella Gagnon of Concordia, and Hector Adam of Fort Lyons, Colorado. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9:30 o’clock at the Catholic Church in Aurora, and burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery there.
