Biography

In the 1851 census John (age 25), Ag Lab, was the lodger of Margaret Grassick in Village, Kincardine Oneil, Kincardine ONeill, Aberdeenshire.[1]


When John was about 30 he married Isabella (aka Elizabeth) Thomson on 14 June 1856 in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire. [2]

In the 1861 census John (age 35), Railway Station Labourer, was the son-in-law of Alexander Thomason in Charlestown, Aboyne, Aberdeenshire.[3]

The couple had 6 children:

  1. Jane Adam
  2. Margaret Adam
  3. Isabella Adam
  4. John Adam
  5. Mary Ann Adam
  6. Alexander Thomas Adam.

In the 1871 census John (age 44), Agricultural Store Keeper, was the head of household in Schoolhill Cottage, Aboyne, Aberdeenshire.[4]

John (age 51) died on 5th May of 1877 of Stomach cancer andhis death was registered in 1877 in the Aboyne district [5]
