Thomas began his working life as a Farm Servant for a local Farmer of Hilton, Joseph Dockrey.
By the 1860's , he was employed as a Brewers Labourer and lodged at Moor Street in the home of Henry and Louisa Murfin. Henry Murfin worked as a Cooper in Burton upon Trent.
In 1871, Thomas still single, had moved, lodging with William Plumtree and his family on Alfred Street.
Thomas Adams died in 1872, age 41.
