Biography

Abigail Amelia "Nabby" Adams was born on 14 July 1765 in Braintree, Norfolk, Massachusetts, the daughter of John Adams II and Abigail Q. (Smith) Adams. She was the sister of John Quincy Adams, Susanna Adams, Charles F. Adams, Thomas B. Adams and Elizabeth Adams. [1][2]

Nabby married William S. Smith on 12 June 1786 in London, England.[2] They had the following children:

  1. William Steuben Smith[3]
  2. John Adams Smith[3]
  3. Thomas H. Smith, died at 1[3]
  4. Caroline A. (Smith) de Windt[2][3]

Nabby died of breast cancer at the age of 48 on 15 August 1813 in Quincy, Norfolk, Massachusetts, United States. She is buried at Hancock Cemetery, Quincy, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, USA[2]

Smith-130933 and Adams-11 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, and dates. I believe Robin is right by saying that Smith is her married name and she the President's daughter. So, when merged, please make her birth name Adams. Thank you.

Can you explain in her biography why her last name at birth is different than her father's name? I believe this is the daughter of John Adams, second president of the US and her Married name was Smith.
