Bernard Adams born in Wellington to Joseph Bernard and Edith Mary Adams. He first worked as a service car driver and later bus driver in Wellington (possibly with Walter Dahl). He had a previous marriage to Kathleen Mary Adela Kennedy in 1931. Bernard enlisted WWII - rank sapper, army number 27482 - NZEF - 2nd Division - NZ Engineers Unit 16 RY OP Company and embarked between 1940 - 1941. Bernard moved to Palmerston North and worked as a barman in the early 1960's and by 1969 was bar manager. Bernard Adams died age 74 and is buried at Kelvin Grove Cemetery, Palmerston North.
