Benjamin was born in about 1787 in Roaring River, Wilkes, North Carolina, USA.

When Benjamin was about 22 he married Sarah Elizabeth Caudill on 21 February 1809 in Wilkes, North Carolina, USA. The couple had one child: Elizabeth Adams.[1][2]
In the 1810 census Benjamin (age about 23) was living in Floyd, Kentucky, USA.[3]
Land Grant: 20 April 1825 in Marengo, Alabama, USA.[4]

This link was initially made through location evidence based on Benajmin's daughter's marriage to Andrew Niolion in Dallas County, Alabama. Genetic matching with FTDNA participant Marvin Eldon McDougal (common ancestors appearing to be a double counship thorugh James Caudill and Mary Adams, and Stephen James Caudill and Mary Elizabeth Fields, emailed 8/22/11 for confirmation) which further supports that this link is likely the correct one.
