Biography

This profile was created in WikiTree to represent the father of Tannatje Adams (wife of Pieter Winne). The first name of Albert suggests that his child was thought to have the patronymic Albertsz; this may indicate understandable confusion between Tannatje Adams and Jannetje Albertsz, wife of Pieter Pietersz Winne. Documentation has not been provided for either the reported details of this man's biography or the parentage of Tannetje Adams or Jannetje Albertsz.

According some genealogies they were the parents of Annatje Adams who married Pieter Winne in Albany New York: Tannatje Adams born about 1638 in Leeuwarden, Friesland, Netherlands. She was the second wife of Peter Winne they married in 1658 in Albany, New York . Her parents were Albert Adams and Aeltje Wygerts. After Pieter died, she married Marten Cornelisz Van Buren. Tannatje died in 1694 in Bethlehem, Albany, NY.[1]

Will look for some sources now ;) Already proposed a merge for the duplicate Tannatje's and added a bit of info + 'source' to her profile, and will add the unverified parents template to her .

This profile appears to have come from an Internet genealogy, and likely reflected some erroneous assumptions about the father of early New Netherland settler Tannatje Adams.

The profile has no sources. Is there a record supporting the existence of a man by this name, either born somewhere in Drenthe circa 1585 or died in New York circa 1685?

Vries and Zuidlaren are both hamlets in Drenthe, at about 10 kilometers distance from each other.

Vries, Zuidlaren as one place is nonsense.

I removed the connection to Albert Adams as Tannatje's father, per notes on both profiles.

Drenthe, this man's birth province, is very far away from Leeuwarden, Friesland, birth place of Tannetje Adams. Friesland is in the North-West of the Netherlands, whereas Drenthe is in the Mid-East of the Netherlands.
What's the basis for identifying Albert Adams as the father of Tannetje Adams? (I've assumed that Adams was her patronymic name, indicating that her father's first name was Adam.) She is reported to have been born in Leeuwarden -- is that near this man's birthplace? [Added: Her first son was named Adam, which would be consistent with her father having been named Adam.]

Hmm... I note that the wife of Pieter Pietersen Winne, oldest son of Pieter Winne, was Jannetje Albertsz. Did Tannetje Adams, wife of Pieter Winne, get confused/conflated with Jannetje Albertsz, wife of Pieter Pietersen Winne? (The similarity of names makes it incredibly easy to get them mixed up!)
