Cornelius Adams was born at Canterbury, Connecticut, on 21 Mar 1748, the son of John Adams and Abigail (Cleveland) Adams.^[1]

Cornelius Adams died at Canterbury, Connecticut, on 30 Aug 1825 at the reported age of 75.^[3] He is buried at the Wheeler Cemetery in Canterbury, where his gravestone shows his age as 77.^[4]
