Biography

Capt. Benjamin Adams was born in Rowley 1735. He lived in that part of Rowley, now Georgetown, in the Clark house on Haverill street and carried on the farm. He was known generally as "Lawyer Ben Adams" because of his pugnacity and fondness for litigation. Benjamin Adams was a Minute Man at the Lexington and Commanded a company at the Burgoyne campaign.
