Biography

Marvin Adams MD served with the Army during the Spanish-American War.

Daniel Marvin Adams (preferred name Marvin) was born on December 25, 1880, in Eufaula, Alabama, son of John Allen Adams (1845–1925) and Mary Elizabeth Thweatt (1857–1940).[1]

Marvin (age 27) married Alabama "Bannie" "Bama" Lee Stokes in 1907. They had the following children:

  1. Daniel Marvin Adams (1910-1987)
  2. John Powell Adams (1914-1985)

In 1924, Marvin founded Adams Hospital, the first medical center in Bay County, Florida.[1]

Marvin died on July 17, 1932 in Panama City, Florida, aged 51. He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Panama City, Florida.[2]

ACCORDING TO HARRY ADAMS HIS BROTHER, MARVIN RAN AWAY FROM HOME AND JOINED THE ARMY . HE WAS WITH TROOP G, 8TH CAVALRY. HE STAYED IN CUBA FOR 3 YEARS AT WHICH TIME HE SAVED A FRIEND FRON DROWNING. HE HAD BEEN STUDING WITH A DR. COPELAND IN EUFUAL, AL BEFORE TNE MOVE TO AL. HIS C.O. HAD HIM TRANSFREED TO THE MEDICAL CORP DURING THIS TIME HE KEPT STUDING WITH BOOKS SENT BY HIS FATHER FROM DR COPELAND. HIS FIRST FORMAL STUDING TO BE A DR. WAS AT SOUTHERN MEDICAL COLLEGE.

WHILE LIVING IN MONTGOMERY, AL BAMA GOT SICK AND THEY WERE TOLD TO MOVE TO FLA. HE MOVED TO PANAMA CITY AND OPEN A OFFICE HE LATER OPENED HIS HOUSE AS A HOSPITAL. JULY 2, 2011 HUERT CLINTON ADAMS
