Biography

Charles Adams Sr. (1807-1886) was the son of John Quincy Adams, sixth U.S. President.

US minister to London during Civil War.


Adams, Charles Francis, Sr. (1807-1886) Son of sixth U.S. President John Quincy Adams and grandson of second U.S. President John Adams. Served in the U.S. House of Representatives under President Abraham Lincoln. US Ambassador to the UK, 1861-68. Married Abigail Browne Brooks (1808-1889). Unitarian, Diplomat, Republican.

I have no idea if Brooks Peter Chardon Adam should be called BROOKS as his first name or PETER ? He authored under the name of " Brooks" ; used " Peter" in earlier resources. What do you think ?
