He emigrated to New Hampshire in 1880. He married Pheobe Johnston on January 8, 1882 in Franklin Falls, Merrimack, New Hampshire. He passed away on June 22, 1900 in Manchester, New Hampshire from an occlusion of gallbladder by schirribus.
