Biography

Rachel was the daughter of Jonathan and Ann Brown Adams, born 7 April 1799. Her birth and death dates are recorded in the minutes of the Monthly Meeting of the Society of Friends in Deep Creek, North Carolina as transcribed by William Wade Hinshaw. She was dismissed from the Friends Society on 1 Feb 1823 for her marriage "out of unity" to John Jester (1799-1875).

She is supposed to be buried at Deep Creek Friends Church Cemetery, Yadkin, North Carolina, United States. Ray Parker, a Jester descendant, and researcher of the North Carolina Jesters says she is bured at Deep Creek Friends Row T Pos 7. There is no a FAG memorial for her.

This particular Jester group had a spate of Rachels. Rachel Pierce, Rachel Jester, Rachel Adams, and Rachel Stoneman. Rachel Stoneman Jester is the Rachel who died 28 Apr 1848, probably in Indiana, after the birth of her son John. Rachael Stoneman Jester has 2 memorials at Deep Creek Cemetery.
