Artemas Mason Adams was born in about 1827 in Walpole, Cheshire, New Hampshire Artemas Adams was a Shirt Manufacturer from Walpole, Cheshire, New Hampshire when he joined the Army on 9 Oct 1862 as a 1st Lieutenant in the Civil War

He was discharged from the war on 6 Apr 1863.

After the war he went to Buffalo, Erie, New York and became a Painter. He married and had at least 5 children.
