Lucy Adams was born "say" 1574 based on the estimated year of her marriage. She was the daughter of John and Agnes (Stone) Adams, as proven by her father's will where her children and widower were named.[1]
Lucy married Richard French as his first wife about 1594. The marriage year is estimated based on the baptism of their first known child, John, on 7 June 1595 in Misterton[2] where all of Richard's children where christened.
"Luce, the wife of Richard Frenche" was buried at St Bartholomew's Crewkerne Parish Church, Somerset, on 29 March 1605.[3][4]
The will of Lucy's father, John Adams of Barton [St.] David, Somersetshire, was dated 19 March 1603/4, and bequeathed 20s. to be divided equally among the children of Richard French of Misterton: John French [bp. 7 June 1595], Stephen French [bp. 26 Dec. 1600], and "Mary" [corrected to Margery] French [bp. 18 May 1603]. Their relationship to the testator was not stated, nor was the name of Richard French's wife, but it is assumed that French was John Adams’s son-in-law. J. Gardner Bartlett's Adams genealogy[1][5] was consequently able to identify their mother only as “a daughter” of John and Agnes (Stone?) Adams and wife of Richard French. But the burial record of Lucy, wife of Richard French, confirms her identity. She was the mother of the first four of Richard's known children.
About four months after Lucy's death, Richard married again in Misterton on 2 August 1605 to his second wife, Alice Thompson ("Ales Tomsin").[6][7] Alice was the mother of Richard's last four known children.

John Frenche, bp. 07 Jun 1595[8] named in father's will 1638.

Adams-328 and Adams-256 appear to represent the same person because: Judith Lucy Adams is imaginary. John Adams & wife Agnes Stone had 4 children, based on John's will. One of whom was a daughter Lucy, who married John French and she died in Misterton. Please merge Judith Lucy Adams away by absorbing the profile into Lucy Adams-256. See further comments on Adams-256.
Based on his will, John and Agnes (Stone?) Adams of Barton St. David are known to have had only four children: two sons and two daughters. The Adams daughter who married Richard French was named Lucy (not Mary and not Judith Lucy); her burial was recorded at Misterton, Somerset, and adjacent Crewkerne as having occurred on 29 March 1605 ("Luce, wife of Richard French"). For details, please see my comments at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/French-333 and https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Adams-253
Thanks Gene, I'll work on this and related profiles.
