1917: WWI Registration card lists John Carson Adams (age 25) as living at 2736 W. Main ST., Louisville; next of kin is mother; single; worked as a draftsman in chief engineer's office at L & N R. R. Co.; date of registration: 5 Jun 1917;

Served in the Army from 27 May 1918 to 16 Jul 1919;

Married Irina Julia Klinger (14 Jul 1895 – 21 Jun 1965) of St. Louis, Mo. (abt 17 Aug 1919);

1920 Census has John Carson (age 28) and his wife, Irina, living with his parents, John and Kathryn Adams, and sister, Mary E. Adams at 2736 W. Main St., Louisville; his occupation is listed as a draftsman for the railroad; (mother, Kathryn, lists her parents' birthplace as France);
