Lucy Adams Fraser/Frazer was born about 1765 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, to Thomas Adams and Lucy Adams. Her father, Thomas, and her mother, Lucy, were both 25 years old at the time of Lucy's birth.
Lucy was one of eleven children. Lucy has four brothers and six sisters. Lucy was the fifth oldest child with her brother John being the eldest of the children. Lucy's sister Mary was the youngest. In the order of their birth are John, Nancy, William, Elizabeth, Lucy, Jeremiah, Isaac, Lizzey, Martha, Rebecca and Mary.
When people took to the streets to protest the Stamp Act in 1765, Lucy Adams was probably living in Virginia, one of the colonies opposing British rule. Also ocurring during this same year, American colonists created the foundation of a burgeoning new country.
On January 4, 1780, at the age of 15, Lucy married 43 year old John S. "Cuffy" Frazier in Mecklenburg County, Virginia.
Lucy and Cuffy had three children; one daughter and two sons. Their eldest child was their daughter, Lucy (born 1785) and their middle child was son, Thomas (born 1788) , and youngest child was son, William Doss (born 1790).
