Olga was born in September 1893, the only child of David Adams and Ida Lydiard. Due to her father having deserted her mother, she was born in the Lying-In Department of the Destitute Asylum, Adelaide.[1][2]
At some point, David, Ida and Olga moved to Newcastle, New South Wales.
Her mother died in the Newcastle Hospital due to an ectopic pregnancy with her second child. Olga was only six years old.
She married Benjamin Ginman at St Paul's Church, Adelaide.[3]
