Hi Mark,

I’m wondering if your Francis Hill who marries Isabella Sheridan is the same as my direct ancestor, Francis Hill Francis Hill (abt.1813-1862) whose identified children are Francis Charles and Isabella and for whom we have yet to identify their mother, Francis’ first wife. Have you found a death/burial record for your Isabella, or do you have a fair sense as to when she passed? Do you know the occupation of your Francis, or his father? Do you have a GEDkit number? I have a more complete tree on Ancestry.

Edit: Just found your GEDkit number. When compared to my Dad’s (SS2203776), you have a small match on Chr 14 and 17. -Maggie

You ask whether Francis Hill [Hill-44130] who married Isabella Sheridan [Sheridan-1800] in 1840 in Killashandra, County Cavan, Ireland was the same person as your ancestor Francis Hill [Hill-46733]. It seems doubtful to me. All I know of [Hill-44130] is from the marriage entry in Typed list: "Killeshandra Marriages" compiled by Rev Stanley Johnson, Kildallan Parish, Barony of Tullyhunco, County Cavan, Ireland (c 1992). [Hill-44130] is shown as being from Aghnacor, Co Cavan. The record of [Hill-47633] indicates that he was from Dublin.

Isabella was from Bohora, Cavan, very near Aghnacor. I do not know her death date or place but have no reason to suspect a Dublin connection.

Thank you for contacting me! I am not on the trusted list of 1828 Sarah Glass therefore I can't edit last name at birth but I left a comment on her profile about changing her surname at birth to Unknown.

Thanks, Jaav.
