James Jasper Adams Sr was born18 Aug 1798 in Laurens County, South Carolina. He married Lucinda Smith abt 1822, perhaps in South Carolina but maybe in Davidson, Tennessee since that is where their daughter was born.
He died in 1869 in Athens, Monroe County, Mississippi and was buried there in Buckingham Cemetery. [1]
According to The Monroe County History book, James Jasper Adams left South Carolina with members of his family and three other families. Along the way, circa 1822, he married Lucinda Smith. They first lived in Davidson County (Tennessee?), where four children were born. From Davidson County, they went to Limestone County, Alabama where five more children were born. Their final move was to Athens, Monroe County, Mississippi where eight more children were born.
