Anna was the first of eleven children born to Captain Robert and Mourning (Lewis) Adams of Goochland Co VA.
Anna Adams, the daughter of Robert Adams and Mourning Lewis, was born about 1712 in Virginia and baptized in St. Peter's Parish in New Kent County, Virginia. She died 18 Mar 1769 (aged 56–57) in Buckingham County, Virginia and was buried at Thomas Sanders Cemetery in Bedford, Bedford County, Virginia.[1]
She married Thomas Sanders on July 16, 1729, in Virginia.

Capt. Robert Adams married Mourning Lewis on Feb. 4, 1712, in Henrico Co., VA. Part of Henrico later became Goochland, and part later became Albemarle , Virginia. Robert's property was located in all three counties.
Robert, her father gave 400 acres to her husband, Thomas Sanders. The 400 acres is recognizable in the following deed recorded in Goochland, Virginia Deed Book 2, page 257, 21 Sep 1736: Robert Adams to Thomas Sannders . . . son-in-law . . . who married daughter Anne; 400 acres in fork of Licking Hole Creek, which is essentially the same land bounded by patent to Robert Adams 16 Jun 1727 .. ." (spelling reflects what appears in Deed). Note that the original deed for this piece of land for the 1727 date can be found in Virginia Patent Book 13, page 83 - 400 acres Henrico Co in the fork of Licking Hole Creek. [Deed verified by KSM]
Mourning Adams, relict of Robert Adams executed a Deed written 4 July 1765 and presented in August 1765 pursuant to the last will and testament of her deceased husband, Robert Adams...''that my said sons Robert and James Adams their heirs to do after my decease pay or cause to be paid to each of my Daughters to Witt:
which said ? is given in full of any demands that they or either of them might or could have against the estate in my possessions and I the said Mourning Adams all and singular the aforesaid negroes, goods, chattles, to the said Robert and James Adams, their Ex. administrators and against all and every person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and defend by these presents. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 4th day of July, anno domni MD CCLCV.

She was born and died in Dec 1712. Sometime in 1725, Robert and Mourning had a ninth child, a girl they named for their beloved first-born Anna. She was referred to as Anna the Younger.
