Comfort was born in 1816. He is the son of Asael Adams and Lucy Mydatt.

Comfort A. Adams was a son of the school girl Lucy Mygatt . He was editor and publisher of the Warren Chronicle from 1854 until 1865. He was also the postmaster at Warren from March 1849 until March 1853. Whittlesey Adams is also a son or tho school girl Lucy Mygatt. He was a paymaster with rank of major during the civil war.
