Biography

John was NOT baptised on 20 August 1820 at St Mary's, Mudford to John and Ann Adams of Up Mudford. This John died in 1835 aged only 15.

There are no baptism records for a John Adams in the period 1815-1825 in parishes neighbouring Mudford.

Was a servant in the Longman household in Mudford in 1841, along with Mary Ann Penny.

Cannot locate in 1851 or 1861 Census and there are no likely deaths in the indexes from 1841 to 1861.

Records in the death index that are likely looking but can be discounted are:
Q2 1844 in Bridgwater (age at death 46 years)
Q2 1845 in Yeovil (age at death 80 years)
Q2 1845 in Langport (age at death 41 years
Q4 1849 in Langport (age at death 2 years)
Q1 1851 in Yeovil (age at death 65 years)
There are no John Adams deaths in Wincanton district in the period 1841-1851.
There are no John Adams deaths in Chard district in the period 1841-1851.

Possbilities not yet ruled out include:
Q2 1844 in Sherborne (can only find in freebmd, not gro, so cannot learn age at death)
Q1 1850 in Sherborne (age at death 28 years so reasonably close)

If John moved overseas he is effectively untraceable unless he has descendants who research the trail back to Mudford.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
