Biography

OBITUARY: Frank Samuel Adams, 86, of La Grange passed away on September 30, 2018.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Frank was an imperfect man with a perfect loving heart. Frank was born on January 13, 1932 to Samuel and Mary Schindler in Pittsburgh, PA. He lived in the La Grange area for the past 20 years. He served his country in the army during the Korean Conflict. Before his time in the army, he worked as a chemist. He loved his dogs and helping others in need. Frank always had a smile, joke, hug or an old story to tell. He was a pro boxing official. He loved working retail for the times with people and his last job was at O’Reilly Auto Parts in La Grange. He traveled with his wife Norma near and far.

Frank is survived by wife of 50+ years Norma Adams; daughter Denisia Ann and Gunter(G-man); son Vincent Lee and wife Kathy; sister Carolyn Sampson Olsen; cousin Tottie Whitaker and husband Paul ; son Jim, Blaise, Frank and Billy ; many granddaughters and grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews. If we forgot to mention you I am sorry, we just lost Frank.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son Michael; grandparents; uncle Frank Schindler; aunt Thelmia (Nana) Shindler; stepfather James Sampson; cousin Sue Hensley; cousin Janie Hooker; uncle Russ Kight along with many friends.

Frank requested that in his memory everyone do a good deed (pay it forward) for his family, friends or a stranger.

When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me. I want no rites in a gloom filled room Why cry for a soul set free Miss me a little, but not too long, And not with your head bowed low Remember the love we once shared, Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take And each must go alone. It’s all part of the Master’s plan A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart, Go to the Friend we know. And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds Miss me, but let me go.
