Emeline (Adams) Carey is part of a Bahamian family.

Biography

Emeline Adams was born 25 January 1850 in Hope Town, Abaco, Bahamas to Jacob Rolins Adams and Catherine Sawyer Adams. She was christened there 3 April 1850.

She married twice: first, to John Edgecombe, planter of Hope Town, 21 October 1869; and second, to Joseph Carey, widower, about 1874/5.

Emeline and John Edgecombe had a daughter, Emeline Stella Edgecombe, born in 1870, and a son, Richard Rolins Edgecombe, who was born in 1871 and lived for 10 months. John died in Hope Town 31 May 1872 at 26 years of age.

Joseph Carey and Emeline Carey had children - among them John Wilson, Eliza Catherine, Joseph Stamford, Mary Susan, Frances Elizabeth, and Rebecca Bertha Carey.

Emeline Adams Edgecombe Carey passed away 30 October 1911 in Hope Town, Abaco at 60 years of age.
