Stephen was born about 1754. He was the son of Joshua Adams and Ruth Eaton.

Stephen served in the American Revolution. He was a private in Captain Hart Williams's company, which marched 21 April 1775 in response to the alarm of 19 April 1775. His service was five days.[1]

Stephen married Sarah (Elwell) Adams (abt.1760-1849) on 14 April 1782, in Gorham, Maine.[2]

He passed away at age 66 on 20 October 1820, in Buxton, Maine.[3][4]
