Elizabeth Adams was born c.1758 to John and Susan (Wood) Adams, probably in Halifax County, Virginia. Traditionally, Betty, as she was called, is said to have been a beautiful woman, a belle of her day.
She maried Reuben James, a wealthy and prominent man of Granville County, North Carolina, and moved with her husband to that county. Unfortunately, nothing is known of her descendants.
The date given for her death is 3 May 1802 from an unknown source.
