Biography
John Warner Adams was born on 5 June 1822.[1] He was the son of Millard Adams and Sarah Mead and was christened at All Saints Church in Leighton Buzzard on 4 May 1823.[2][3][4]
In 1881 John is recorded on the England Census as living in Hockliffe with his children John and Lucy. His trade was "farmer" and his marital status was widower.[5]
In 1891 John is recorded as "Lord of the Manor of Hockliffe" and his address was given as Hockliffe House, near Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire.[6]
In 1901 John is recorded on the England Census as widowed and living in Hockliffe with his son John and daughter Lucy Ellen. Two others were living with them, Kate Whoolhead and Frederick Kifford. John's trade was "farmer".[7]
John died on 13 March 1903[8] in the district of Leighton Buzzard.[9] He was buried at St Nicholas's Churchyard in Hockliffe.[1] Probate was granted to John's son, John, on 9 July 1903.[8]
