What is the source that James Adams Jr's daughter married Phillip Dillard? Phillip Dillard's bible records do not name his second wife's parents but the bible records do show the death dates of Thomas Adams to be 12 March, 1823 and Rebecca Adams to be 28 Aug, 1822. They are the only Adam's listed in his bible records. The bible records show his second wife named Sarah Savage Adams, born 12 July, 1789 and died 26 Aug, 1825. James Adams Jr died before his father James Adams Sr's will that was dated 14 Aug, 1781. Bible records the marriage date between Phillip Dillard and Sarah Savage Adams to have occurred on 14 Aug, 1806. The 1810 Edgefield Co, SC census of Phillip Dillard shows 2 females born between 1784 to 1794. Those years were after the death of James Adams Jr. I know that Wikitree originally showed the second wife of Phillip Dillard to be named Sarah Savage Adams and her parents named Thomas and Rebecca Adams. That was later changed due I believe to information included in two unsourced books written over 100 years after the death date of Sarah Savage Adams. I believe his bible records to be the only credible source.

According to Phillip Dillard's bible (which was published in October, 1802 in Philadelphia and purchased by Phillip Dillard June 28, 1803 for $8.23.) records which as of 1975 were in the possession of Buford Cason of Vienna, Georgia, Phillip Dillard's second wife was named Sarah Savage Adams, not Elizabeth (Emma) Adams. In separate sections of the bible pertaining to Sarah Savage Adams it is written that she was born on July 12, 1789. It is stated in the bible that they were married August 14, 1806. According to the bible records "Sarah Savage Dillard deceased Friday 26 August 1825 with her infant at 4 o'clock 1825." Two unsourced books attributed Phillip Dillard's second wife to be named Elizabeth Adams. One book titled "History of Pulaski County, Georgia" was published in 1935 110 years after the death of Phillip's second wife. The other book titled "A Pryor Family Narrative" also attributed the second wife of Phillip DilIard to be named Elizabeth Adams was published in 1995 170 years after the death of Phillip's second wife. I believe the the only correct source for the wife of Phillip Dillard is Sarah Savage Adams who is named in his bible records.
