Biography

Harvey ADAMS was born about 11 May 1808 in New Hampshire, possibly in the town of Lancaster in Coos County. He died on 9 January 1869 in Lancaster, Coos County, New Hampshire. He is believed to have been the son of Benjamin ADAMS and Sally LAMB. He was buried in Wilder Cemetery, Lancaster, Coos County, New Hampshire.

Note: Original profile had a date guess for birth at about 1814. Census records for 1850 and 1860 both point towards his birth being about 1808 in New Hampshire.

Occupation:

In both the 1850 and 1860 census records, Harvey ADAMS was listed as being a Blacksmith by occupation. While Harvey ADAMS did not live in Old Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts, their site has a pretty good description of what a Blacksmith would have been doing in the time frame that he would have been practicing that trade - 19th Century Blacksmithing.

According to the Find a Grave Site, he was married twice. His first marriage occurred about 1831 to a Mary CHESMAN.

Mary CHESMAN was born about 1811 and died on 26 June 1833. She was the daughter of Sylvanus CHESMAN (1771 - 1824) and Betsey BLODGETT (1774 - 1854). She is buried in Wilder Cemetery, Lancaster, Coos County, New Hampshire.

It is unknown if he and his first wife had any children. It is possible his first wife, may have been the mother of Charles H. ADAMS (Born: About 1833 in New Hampshire) who was listed in his father's household in 1850.

After the death of Mary (CHESMAN) ADAMS, Harvey ADAMS remarried about 1834 to Nancy Dustin ROWELL.

Nancy Dustin ROWELL was born about 1813 in New Hampshire and died on 3 February 1881 in Lancaster, Coos County, New Hampshire. She is buried in Wilder Cemetery, Lancaster, Coos County, New Hampshire.
