Joseph was born in 1888. He was the son of Alfred Adamson and Catherine Kaufmann. Born March 12, 1888 Alfred Joseph Adamson was baptized on the 18th of March at Our Lady of Lourdes and St Bernard in Liverpool.[1]
Alfred served with the Royal Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant between December 1917 and May 1919 at Eastchurch, England.[5] On his return to Canada he was eligible for and received an Imperial War Gratuity in 1920. At that time he was residing at Keeler, Saskatchewan.[6]
In 1921 his parents were farming near Craik, Saskatchewan. Florence Corroyer, who would later become his wife, was a domestic servant on the farm.[7]
He married Florence Edith Corroyer.
In 1926 Alfred and Florence were living at Marquis, Saskatchewan. At the same residence was Alfred's younger brother John and his wife, Lillian, and their son John. Also living with them was brother-in-law Henry Corroyer (19).[8]
