Biography
John was born in Gilford, County Down, Ireland in 1866, the son of Robert Adamson, a labourer, and Anne Williamson.[1] By 1900 he was working as a bleacher in Gilford and married Elizabeth Donaldson from the town in the local Tullylish Parish Church.[2]
