Biography
Anna, daughter of Benedikt Adank and Anna Dürr, was christened in the Reformed church of current day Gretschins, St. Gallen, Switzerland on 20 October 1771. The godparents were Jakob Ruderer, Dorothea Gabathuler, Johannes Schlegel and Margreth Rissi.[1]
Aged 29, unmarried Anna gave birth to her daughter Anna Adank.[2] The father was alleged to have been a Frenchman named Niklaus Schmid.
Anna died in Oberschan on 26 November 1837 aged 66 and was buried at the local Reformed church two days later. She never married[3]
