Biography

Roman Nathaniel Aday was born on 3 September 1888 in Waxahachie, Ellis, Texas. [1] He was the son of William Reece Aday (1846 - 1910) and Sarah Jane Aday (1860 - 1933) . [2]

In 1900, at the age of 12, he was living in Justice Precinct 5, Ellis County, Texas, with his parents, William and Sarah, and four siblings: Robert F (Brother age 18), William W, (Brother age 16), John B (Brother age 14, and Mary M (Sister age 9). He was a farm laborer. [3]

In 1910, at the age of 21, he lived in Justice Precinct 5, with his parents, and four siblings: William W (Brother age 26), John B (Brother age 22), and Mary M (Sister age 19), and adopted sister Mattie L Aday (Age 3). He was a farm laborer. [4]

He married Lula Estelle Hooper on 8 December 1915 in Ellis County, Texas. [5]

In 1918, he registered for the World War I Draft. He was married with one child and working as a farmer. His description was medium height and build, with grey eyes and brown hair. [6]

In 1920, at the age of 31, he was living in Justice Precinct 1, Ellis County, with his wife, Lula, and two daughters: Edith Lucile (Age 3), and Geneva Mae(Age 6 months). He was a farmer. [7]

In 1930, at the age of 41, he was living in Justice Precinct 1, Ellis County, with his wife and two daughters: Edith Lucile (Age 13), and Geneva Mae (Age 10). He was a farmer. [8]

In 1940, He was living in Justice Precinct 1, with his wife and daughter, Geneva. He was still farming and living in the same house as in 1935. [9]

In 1942, he registered for the World War II draft. He was 53 and working for himself. [10] [11]

Roman passed away, at the age of 80, on 6 April 1969 in Waxahachie, Ellis, Texas. The cause of death is listed on his death certificate as Uremia - multiple minor CVA's. [2][12] [1] He is buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Waxahachie, Ellis, Texas. [13]
