Forest vs Forrest ?

I have switched his name several times trying to get it right. I have decided to spell his name, Forrest, with 2 r's, because the obituary and the Commonwealth of Virginia Certificate of Death records his name, Raymond Forrest Adcock Sr., and his son was bestowed with the same name. The important source documents that record his son's life, (marriage certificate and divorce certificate), spell his middle name with 2 r's -- Raymond Forrest Adcock Jr., this is pretty strong testimony.

There are important sources documents that record Raymond F Adcock's signature and therefore captures the way he actually spelled his own name. For example, the WW1 and WW2 draft registrations, record his middle name as "Forest." I do not know why the person that created the virtual memorial at Find-A-Grave spelled his name with only one r, perhaps this was their source.
