Biography

Isaac F. M. Adcock was born in May, 1850 in Tennessee, United States, son of William Adcock (~1814–1872) and Martha F Davis (1827–>1910).

Isaac married Emaline Buck (born in April, 1849 in Jackson, Tennessee; daughter of James Anderson Buck).

In the 1850 census Isaac (age 4 months) was in White, Tennessee, United States.[1] William Adcock 39, Martha Adcock 23, Isaac F M Adcock 4 months.

In the 1860 census Jack (age 9) was at 16th District South of Cumberland River, Jackson, Tennessee, United States.[2] William Adcock 47, Martha Adcock 30, Jack Adcock 9, Mary Adcock 7, Nancy Adcock 6, Manah Adcock 4, Jane Adcock 1.

In the 1870 census Isaac (age 20) was in Jackson, Tennessee, United States.[3] William Adcock 60, Martha Adcock 43, Isaac T M Adcock 20, Manany Adcock 18, Hopy S Adcock 16, Mary B Adcock 13, Louisa A Adcock 11, John H M Adcock 7.

In the 1880 census Isaac (age 30), Farmer, was the married head of household in Civil District 8, Jackson, Tennessee, United States.[4] Isaac Adcock 30, wife Emiline Adcock 31, son William A. Adcock 9, son James P. Adcock 8, daughter Jane Adcock 6, other Martha Adcock 5, daughter Martha Adcock 4, son Preston Adcock 2.

In the 1900 census Isaac (age 50) was the married head of household in Civil District 1, White, Tennessee, United States.[5] Isaac Adcock 50, wife Emeline Adcock 51, daughter Jane Adcock 26, son Preston Adcock 22, daughter Lavina Adcock 19, son Dayton Adcock 17.

In the 1910 census Isacc (age 60) was the married head of household in Sparta, White, Tennessee, United States.[6] Isacc F Adcock 60, wife Emily Adcock 58, son Preston Adcock 36.

In the 1920 census Isaac (age 69) was the married head of household in Sparta, White, Tennessee, United States.[7] Isaac F Adcock 69, wife Emaline Adcock 70.

Isaac died on September 8, 1925 in White, Tennessee, aged 75.[8]

ISAAC F. M. ADCOCK, son of William Adcock [2] and Martha Davis, was born in Tennessee in May, 1850, according to the 1900 Federal Census. He as married on _________in _________ to Emiline (last name unknown), who was born in Tennessee in April, 1849, according to the beforementioned census.
Isaac was the administrator of his father’s estate in 1872-73 as previously notes. In 1880, the Federal Census records Isaac farming in the 8th District of Jackson County. His widowed mother and a sister and brother were living with him and his wife and 5 children. (1)
In June, 1880, Isaac appeared before the Jackson County Court and the following was entered into the court Minutes:
“I. F. Adcock this day presented to the court in open court two fox scalps with both ears and satisfied in court by proof that he killed the same in Jackson county, and since the time (of the) 1st of April. It is therefore ordered by the court that the clerk of this court issue a certificate for 50 cents each to the said Adcock which will be taken in payment of his fox according to the statutes of our estate.” (2)
Isaac purchased land in the 6th district of Jackson county earlier, but the deed records of the county have not survived the various catastrophes at the Jackson County Court House. However, on April 10, 1885, he sold this land, and the surviving deed is abstracted in part as follows: (3)
“...in consideration of $50.00... convey to John M. Burris... land... lying in District No. 6, Jackson County... beginning on a beech tree on the bench of the hill below the spring, thence down the branch with its various meanders to a sugar tree in the Will Adcock Mill tract, then with said mill tract up the hill westward to N. W. corner of the 200 acre tract known as the Alson Smith tract, then southward with said Smith’s line to the Maxwell hickory corner thence eastward with said line to the beginning. April 10, 1885.”
Isaac was enumerated in the 1900 Federal Census of White County, Tennessee, living in or near Sparta in the 1st Civil District (ref. 73-149-3-74)
The death date and burial places for Isaac and Emiline are unknown at present.
