Joseph Addison was born in about 1864 in St Helens, Lancashire. He is believed to be the son of Joseph Addison and Jane (Tupman) Addison, because he was buried in their family grave. His birth was probably registered in the first quarter of 1865, in Prescot district - the mother's maiden name is transcribed as Tuffnell at present, but no Addison - Tuffnell marriage registrations could be found, so it is thought to be a mistranscription or misrecording of Tupman.
Joseph died in 1865, aged 1. He was buried on 23 Dec 1865 in St Helens Cemetery.
There was also a Joseph Addison born on 5 Jun 1864 in Windle, the son of William & Jane[1] but he was still alive and with his parents in 1871.[2]
