On Wednesday afternoon, at St. David's Church, Burnside, South Australia, Lady Downer, widow of the late Sir John Downer, was married to Mr. D'Arcy Wentworth Addison, son of Capt. J. E. Addison, of Hobart, and Under-Secretary to the Premier's Department, Tasmania. Mrs. Addison is particularly well-known in Sydney, being the daughter of the late Mr. H. E. Russell, N.S.W.

MR. D'ARCY ADDISON.
Mr. D'Arcy Wentworth Addison, CMG MVO ISO. [4] The Under Secretary for Tasmania; and Chief State Electoral Officer. He is a son of Capt. J. E. Addison, late of the Fifth Royal Irish Lancers, and was born at Hobart on December 10, 1872. He entered the civil service at the age of 15, and was appointed secretary to the Premier in 1902, an office he held until, 1926. In 1920 the Imperial Service Order was conferred upon Mr. Addison for meritorious service under the State Government.
In the same year he was responsible for the organisation of the visit of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales to Tasmania and was made a Member of the Royal Victorian Order, fifth class. He was made a fourth class member of the Order in 1927, when he organised the visit to Tasmania of Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of York.
Mr. Addison, was also connected officially with the arrangements for the visit of His Majesty the King in 1901. As secretary to the Premier, Mr. Addison has served under eight successive administrations.
