Nora was born in 1876 to Elias James Addy and Nany Elizabeth Parks in Newton County, Mississippi. She is listed with her parents on the 1880 Census.[1] On April 21, 1896 she married Wayne Robert Carleton.[2] They are listed together on the 1900 Census,[3] the 1910 Census,[4] the 1920 Census,[5] and the 1930 Census.[6] Those records indicate that the couple had at least seven children: Howard, Marshall, Mary, Eugene, Annie, Robert, and Evelyn. Her husband passed away in early 1940 and she is listed as widowed on the 1940 Census.[7] She passed away in March of 1954 and is buried in Decatur Cemetery in Decatur, Newton County, Mississippi.[8]
