Benjamin was born 30 Nov 1894, in Sherman, Texas. He was the son of Sam and Jennie (Lasky) Adelberg. He moved to Fort Worth, Texas as a small child.
As a young man, he worked as a doorman for the Majestic Theater in Fort Worth. After leaving the theater in 1924, he operated the Triangle Inn of Cleburne Road. Later, he opened a grocery store across from the apartment in which he lived, at 1103 8th Street.
Benjamin was intensely interested in the happenings of World War II and, according to his wife, could spend hours discussing it with his neighbor. On the evening of 18 May 1940, he was listening to a news broadcast at his grocery store when he slumped over in his rocking chair, dead of a heart attack. He was just 45 years old. He was buried at Abath Sholom Cemetery in Fort Worth. Rabbi Philip Graubart officiated his service.
He passed away in 1940.
