Aaron Ades was born in Brede, Sussex and baptised there on 20 December 1782, he was the son of Thomas Ades and his wife Mary [1]
Aaron Ade of Brede married Mary Webb in Battle, Sussex on 2 August 1808 [2] Mary Webb had a baseborn daughter Mary Ann Webb baptised 20 May 1806 in Brede The burial for a Mary Ades age 21 in Sedlescombe on 12 May 1809 seems likely to be Aaron's first wife. Some consider there is a son Spencer born about 1808/9 from this marriage.
Following the death of his first wife, Aaron married for a second time to Charlotte Crisford in Brede, on 4 Dec 1810. [3]. They had 3 children. Sadly Charlotte passed away [probably from childbirth of son Aaron] and was buried in Brede on 1 April 1814, age 27. [4]
Aaron married for a third time to Sarah Crisford (Charlotte's sister), and they settled in Bexhill, where their son Thomas was born in 1823. Aaron was owner occupier of freehold land in Bexhill 1820. They had 5 children in all. The findagrave website indicates that Sarah was Charlotte's older sister, and her maiden name is Crisford/Chrisford, but no marriage found (1815-1818). It is posible that no marriage took place, as it was still illegal in England to marry your sibling-in-law (deceased wife's sister) until an Act of Parliament was passed in 1907 [5]
Aaron Ades of Rye was found drowned 26 April 1834 and was buried Brede churchyard on 28 April 1834. [6]
