A number of family trees have Ann Adey as the Anna Adey, b. 1847 daughter of Martin Adey and Mary Trimm. It is somewhat difficult to resolve different accounts of her birthdate and parents, however, and she may have been the daughter of an Isaac Adey (see research notes). It does seem to be the case that a single woman, Ann Adey, born ca 1841 in Hant's Harbour was married in turn to David Reid, then Thomas Leawood, then Aaron Belbin.

The Belbins & Matthews site has a picture of her tombstone, which reads "In fond and loving memory of our dear mother Ann Belbin who died Jan. 23 1929 aged 86 years."[4] This would put her birthdate at 1843.
According to one online tree Ann Adey, daughter of Martin and Mary, born 1845 married three times---to David Reid, Thomas Leawood, and Aaron Belbin. I am extremely sceptical of this for a few reasons:
A slightly different (more plausible?) tree claims Ann Adey was born 1842, the daughter of an Isaac.[5] This would probably be Isaac, married to Elizabeth, who had a number of children in Hant's Harbor, between 1818 and 1838 (but none recorded named Ann). The identification of Isaac as her father seems pretty well supported, even without a birth record, given the name of her son Isaac Eddy Belbin (b 1876).
The tree goes on to claim: "Prior to her marriage to Aaron, Anne had been previously widowed twice. Her first born, David Jr. died shortly after his birth and his father David Sr. died the second year. Ann then married T. Leawood, who had three children from his previous marriage. Upon his death and her subsequent marriage to Aaron, Ann brought along his son Thomas Jr. Ann took on a lot when she married Aaron, she took on the children of his first wife Elizabeth Buckler, who passed away in the same year. Aaron had seven children with his first wife, who died shortly after Jessie, the youngest, was born She and Aaron also went on to raise a large family of their own. Children of Ann and Aaron: Issac b-1876 d-1972; Lemuel b-Sept.1882 d-1955; Bennett b-1884-d-1905; Drucilla b-March 21, 1878 Anne was the widow of Mr. Leawood of Hant's Harbour, when she married Aaron. Ann turned blind as she aged. Ann is buried in the United Church cemetery in New Chelsea (Seal Cove)a marker marks her grave. Sources: June Belbin, New Chelsea, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland; Lloyd Belben, New Chelsea, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland; According to Belbinmania, Ann is listed by her married name of Leawood before her marriage to Aaron Belben."
This tree lists her children by Leawood as:
and by Belbin as:
For further research, some biographical notes have been taken from an online history of the Ellis family[6]. The several hypothesized marriages of Anna are recorded on her profile at FindAGrave[7].
