Son of Matthew & Hannah (Hyde) Adgate

He married Lucy Waterman, daughter of Asa & Lucy (Hyde) Waterman, on 18 Jan 1762 at Norwich, New London, CT - parents of Asa (1762-1763), a second Asa, Lucy & Martin Adgate

After the death of Lucy he married, as his second wife, Eunice Baldwin on 2 Mar 1767 in NY

He was Member of Provincial Congress, served on the Assembly & Committee of Correspondence

He is buried at Ausable Chasm Cemetery, Ausable, Clinton, NY
