Biography
George Washington Adkins born 17 Dec 1846 in Sheridan, West Virginia son of John Calvin And Nancy Tooley Adkins. He married 1877, Mary Francis Midkiff in Lincoln, West Virginia. I have yet to find a marriage record but the marriage can be confirmed by the 1900 census record that states they have been married for 23 years, his daughter Hattie's death record and Mary's grave marker stating that she is the wife of George Washington Adkins. He lived most of his life in Lincoln, West Virginia as a Merchant and Farmer. However he and his young family and his sister Elizabeth and nephew Andrew lived for a short time in Kansas as shown on the 1880 census record He died on 10 Jan 1934 and was laid to rest 12 Jan 1934 in Adkins-Ross Cemetery, Branchland, Lincoln, West Virginia.
